How much does it cost to copyright a game title in Florida?

I'm currently planning out a video game and before I submit it to a company I want to copyright it.How much does it cost to copyright a game title in Florida?Your original work is already copyrighted by virtue of your being the original author.

To file for a formal copyright, you should file a copyright registration for your work through the Copyright Office online system. The fee will be $35.How much does it cost to copyright a game title in Florida?Zero dollars and zero cents. Copyright is a right, not a cost. Copyright is guaranteed upon publishing a work.

You cannot, however, copyright an idea about a thing. It has to be a thing. If you want to pitch an idea to a company, the only recourse you have is to have them sign something stating that they can't use it without buying it from you.

There is very little chance of them being interested at all. If you had a full game to sell them, they may look at it. But this, this is like trying to sell a vague idea of a book to an author, letting them write it, and then taking partial credit. It just doesn't happen. Either give it away and hope someone does something with it, or make it yourself.

The easiest way to do this is to write a story and publish it. It doesn't have to be very long, just completely original. Then you can generate a bunch of interest (if it's a good story), then sell that story. :)
