How to run a mac game disk using a disk image?

My brother recently bought a game and I am curious if there is some way to run the game without actually having the physical disk in the system. I have tried creating disk images with both the Disk Utility, and Toast Titanium but neither worked properly. I am running Mac OS X 10.5.7How to run a mac game disk using a disk image? Some games check to make sure the actual CD or DVD is in, some don't. If you have one of the ones that doesn't perform that check, you can insert the game disc, open Disk Utility, click the game disc on the left side to highlight it, and click New Image in the toolbar. The default name should be the same as the game disc, so all you need to do is tell it where to save the game. Once it's done, double-click the DMG in Finder to mount it and see if it'll run. If it doesn't work that way, unmount it, then mount it in Toast.

If the above method doesn't work, you can try repeating the process, but instead of saving it as a DMG, save it as a CD/DVD image. You'll end up with a .cdr file - rename it to .iso (they're exactly the same thing) and mount it. Again, try it in Finder first, then failing that, mount it in Toast. If that still doesn't work, the game probably needs to have the disc inserted to work, so you'll have to look on The Pirate Bay or btmon for a No-CD crack for the game. How to run a mac game disk using a disk image?I ended up finding a application that made it possible to run the game without the CD. I don't usually use pirates bay etc for downloading cracked games, but I figured since my brother owns the game it's not really illegal. Thanks for your ideas, unfortunately the game had pretty strict security.
