Super Mario galaxy 2 is a great game but i feel like i should start on hardcore games. I need help deciding?

I'm 15 now, i plan to say farewell to Nintendo and go on to hardcore games on Ps3/Xbox. But i heard Super Mario galaxy 2 so what should i do? Play Super Mario galaxy 2 for my last mario game or just start on the hardcore games?Super Mario galaxy 2 is a great game but i feel like i should start on hardcore games. If you think your too old for non-hardcore games your not haha. But if you want some good suggestions for harder games, here are some. Halo 3, Modern Warfare 2, Left 4 Dead 2, and Fallout 3.
