I am doing a lesson on being victorious, so I need to have a game where one team is victorious over the other one because of some type of strategy. In other words, what are some good strategic war-like games that will get my point across? What kind of game should I play to depict a war?Well, to simply classify a war game as a strategy game is absurd. Games like Call of Duty take no strategy or logic to win, but are simply based in a certain time period.
And with your question, I answer with another:
What war? Any war? If so, then there's a plethora of games available at a Google search. If you would've searched for 'war strategy games' or 'strategic games' thousands of results would've popped up. (Yes, I realize you're using this in order to prevent from sifting through the endless variety of search-results; I'm simply stating that you COULD'VE done that.)
Anyway, to this answer:
There are several war-based strategy games that require little strategy, ala Halo Wars, or Dawn of War II, but on the other side of the spectrum, there are games that require in-depth research and play-time.
For the simple sit-down strategy games, I recommend the following:
- Company of Heroes (And expansions.)
- Dawn of War I (And expansions.)
- R.U.S.E. (Currently in BETA on Steam.)
- Age of Empire (Really, any of the 'Age of' games are brilliant, the first of the series being more complicated.)
- Risk (Yes, the board game.)
And for the extremely complicated:
- Homeworld 2
- Master of Orion 3
- And any other space-faring RTS.
