Why is the new Yakuza 3 ps3 game getting so much censorship when its a mature rated video game?

Why are they PG-13ing Yakuza 3 when its already got blood, violence in it and is rated Mature? Aren't rated mature games for 17/18 yrs or older? I know that you need your id to buy Mature rated games, so why are they censoring this game so much? Why is the new Yakuza 3 ps3 game getting so much censorship when its a mature rated video game? The above user is wrong (at least about the US games)...Sega is publishing the game, not Sony. Also, Yakuza and Yakuza 2 both came out in the US for PS2 so it is not a Japan only series.

Anyway, I heard that the hostess clubs and a Japanese history quiz will not be included in the US version and this was recently confirmed by Sega. The two rumors of why some of the minigames may be cut is because of licensing issues and because it would not appeal to a western audience. If licensing issues are the problem then why not just rename anything that causes an issue? Honestly, who is going to buy Yakuza 3 aside from hardcore fans? The casual gamer won't even consider a game called Yakuza. Sega should know by now that hardcore fans HATE cut content. Why is the new Yakuza 3 ps3 game getting so much censorship when its a mature rated video game? Why: Because Sony have taken a risk in publishing the third installment of a long-running series of Japanese-only games to worldwide audiences and need to make sure it sells as much as it can

Solution: Import the British version, no censorship
