What is the best strategy command game to download for free?

I want a game that is like command and conquer or halo wars, but one where u create ur own nation, and u don't rebuild bases every time u play. Where u can slowly over time build a nation that will grow in size and power.What is the best strategy command game to download for free?Well, honestly I love Yuri's Revenge. You get Yuri's Revenge free (and probably Red Alert 2) if you buy RA3 through their site - but that might have been for pre-order only, not sure. I know that RA1 is for FREE for download from their site, but you need to burn the images of the disks to a CD before you can use them.



I don't know of a lot of free RTS games, especially ones like that. What I would recommend though is something like Age of Empires or Rise of Nations. The first link is for a demo of Rise of Nations.

I know this isn't exactly what you want to hear, but most of the high quality games just aren't free. Look into Age of Empires and Rise of Nations.
