What if a pitcher pitched the last 2 innings without giving up any runs or hits to allow his team to stay close?

There shouldn't even be an MVP award for a game that is an exhibition in which most of the players won't get more then 1 or 2 at-bats, where they may only play a couple of innings on defense, and where a pitcher very rarely throws more then 1 inning. Could be a pitcher, could be a guy who had two hits earlier, could be a guy who made a great play in the field. To be MVP, you have to have done more than just one good thing.
